Airplane-inspired playground opens at The Greene in Beavercreek

A new airplane-inspired playground is opening up at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek.

Dayton Children’s and The Greene are unveiling its new playground in the Plum Street Park on Thursday at 10 a.m. The playground is located between White House Black Market and Pasha Grill. The brightly colored jungle is gym is modeled to look like an airplane, honoring Dayton’s history of flight innovation.

“We are excited to partner with Dayton Children’s Hospital for the unveiling of a new playground at Plum Street Park at The Greene,” said Steve Willshaw general manager at The Greene. “We pride ourselves on providing a positive experience for all visitors, and adding another play area gives children and their families a designated spot to have fun and interact with their peers.”

Dayton Children’s is also sponsoring three movie nights at the park on the first Friday night of the month including:

• June 9 - The Secret Life of Pets

• July 7 - Moana

• Aug. 4 - Lego: Batman

“Dayton Children’s mission is to care for all of our children, whether they ever visit us at the hospital or not,” said Deborah Feldman, president and CEO of Dayton Children’s. “This is an investment in the bodies and minds of our children. Not only do they get exercise and fresh air, they get to let their imaginations soar above and beyond here. Their creativity finds an outlet on the playground, while they learn to share, work together and take turns.”

The Greene Town Center has added some new retailers in the past few months, including home decor store Blinded by Aerolux and Griffin & Co. A new women's shoe store, JaeLuxe Shoetique, will also open soon.
