Assisted living facility in Dayton to close, lay off 49 workers

A nursing and residential care facility in Dayton will close its operations and lay off approximately 49 workers.

Livingston Care Center, located at 20 Livingston Ave. in Dayton, will close its operations and lay off all employees, according to a WARN notice sent to the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.

“We will soon begin the first round of layoffs and separations will occur periodically as our census declines until Livingston is no longer serving residents. We are unable to provide the date that the closing will occur because our operations are dependent upon the needs of our remaining residents,” the company said in a letter.

The closing of the facility will occur 60 days or longer after Sept. 25, the company said. Employees have already been told about the facility’s closure.

The facility is an entity of Premier Health Care Management, a health care operator based out of Blue Ash, Ohio. Premier Health Care Management also operates and owns other nursing homes in Cincinnati: Forest Hills Care Center, Kenwood Terrace Care Center, Madeira Health Care Center, Southbrook Care Center, Ivy Woods Care Center and Pleasant Ridge Care Center.
