Automaker Fiat Chrysler to create 2,000 new jobs in US

Fiat Chrysler announced it will invest $1 billion in two U.S. factories and will create 2,000 new jobs.

The Italian American automaker said Sunday it will also add three new Jeeps to its automotive lineup.

The automaker will use the investment to modernize a factory in Warren, Mich., to make the new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs. A factory complex in Toledo, Ohio, will also get new equipment to make the new pickup truck.

The factory work would be finished in 2020. The company did not provide details about the new products. The factory upgrade in Warren will also allow the plant to make Ram pickups that are currently produced in Mexico.

The company did not share details about how much money or how many jobs will go to each location.
