Dayton Burger King closes for extensive renovation

The Burger King restaurant at 1129 Brown St. near the University of Dayton closed at the end of business Sunday night for an extensive renovation.

A sign taped to the drive-through window this morning informs customers the restaurant will reopen on Nov. 15.

Teams of workers were already busy at the site this morning working on the roof, exterior and interior of the restaurant, while another crew was trimming trees on the property.

Company officials did not immediately respond to a request for more information about the remodel.

This is the second significant investment to a fast-food location on Brown Street that is currently underway. Taco Bell demolished its restaurant at 1000 Brown St. and is building a 2,100-square-foot, 54-seat restaurant that will add outdoor seating.

A second Burger King renovation project is underway in Trotwood at the restaurant at 5341 Salem Ave., according to Trotwood City Planner Jeannie Peyton.
