When Guinaugh found out she won the national leadership award, she thought of what she would one day tell her baby daughter.
“I have a one-and-a-half year old little girl at home,” she said. “I hope when she gets older, she can see this and feel like she can really do whatever it is that she wants to do in this life.”
The award is a national honor given to one person selected from the nominees from each of the 16 leagues in Minor League Baseball featuring approximately 180 teams. Guinaugh was announced last month as the Midwest League’s nominee for the national award, according to a news release.
“Brandy has been a huge part of the Dragons organization since she joined us in 2004, rising to her current role of vice president,” said Robert Murphy, Dragons president and general manager. “She is a tremendous leader for our entire staff and particularly for her department. Her combination of enthusiasm and meticulous work standards have been a great contribution in the Dragons overall success.”
