Employers to boost pay for master’s degree

Students graduating with master’s degrees in computer science and engineering are projected to be the highest-paid graduates from the class of 2017, according to a new report by the National Association of Colleges and Employers .

The overall average annual salary projection for computer science graduates is up more than 12 percent from last year’s projection to $81,039, according to the NACE’s latest salary survey.

Engineering graduates — who topped the list of projected highest-paid master’s degree graduates last year — came in second this year with a projected average salary of $75,053, up 1.6 percent from last year, according to NACE.

Business, math and science majors with master’s degrees are expected to earn salaries that are more than 3 percent higher than last year’s projections.

Projected 2017 average salaries for master’s degree holders by discipline include:
