A new Aldi, which will be the anchor of a new retail development in Beavercreek, opened on Monday.

The Aldi, located at the south end of the development, spans 18,500 square feet. The store is located at 2451 Lakeview Drive right off of North Fairfield Drive.

Store officials told this newspaper about 1,597 customers came out for the grand opening event. The store did a golden ticket giveaway, and the first 100 shoppers received a golden ticket with Aldi gifts. They will also give away eco-friendly bags, and a sweepstakes of free produce for a year.

The new Beavercreek store will replace the Aldi located at 4886 Airway Road, which will officially close on Dec. 10. The store is located near Hobby Lobby and Target.
