The University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute’s Breast Cancer Center will host a free educational event for survivors and their families.

The event will educate the community on how breast cancers differ at the genetic level. The "We See Individual Breast Cancers: You See Personalized Care" breast cancer conference will be hosted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Kingsgate Marriott Conference Center in Cincinnati. The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Tina Hieken, associate professor of surgery at Mayo Clinic, will be the featured speaker for the day.

“This year, we’re taking a close look into the genes and pathways that make each cancer different,” said Elyse Lower, MD, director of the center, professor in the Division of Hematology Oncology at the UC College of Medicine and a UC Health oncologist.
