Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton and Mercy Health - Fairfield Hospital in Butler County have been named to Healthgrades’ 2017 list of “America’s 100 Best Hospitals,” which recognizes the top 2 percent of hospitals in the nation for exhibiting clinical excellence for at least three consecutive years.

The two hospitals were the only hospitals in the Dayton region to receive the award, and were among just five hospitals in Ohio to be ranked on the Top 100 list by Healthgrades, a Denver-based online resource for comprehensive information about hospitals and physicians.

The Top 100 award is based solely on a hospital’s clinical quality outcomes over a multi-year period, according to Healthgrades. Patients at “America’s 100 Best Hospitals” are more likely to have a successful treatment without major complications.
