Beavercreek City Council approved plans to renovate the former Logan’s Roadhouse to make way for new four new retailers and restaurants in the area.

The city council also approved plans to construct a Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel near the Mall at Fairfield Commons. City council approved on Monday night an applicant’s request for major modification of land in Beavercreek to construct a 107-room, five-story hotel on 1.81 acres near the Mall at Fairfield Commons. The hotel will be just south of Red Robin and Fox and Hound restaurants. Approximately 112 off-street parking spaces will be required for the hotel.

An applicant requesting approval of a modification to the former Logan’s Roadhouse restaurant was also passed by council.

» INITIAL REPORT: 4 restaurants, retailers coming to vacant Logan’s Roadhouse

The application was filed by Dayton-based Civil Engineers of Southwest Ohio to renovate the former Logan’s Roadhouse at 2819 Centre Drive in Beavercreek. The proposal would permit an additional 4,00 square feet to be added on to the vacant restaurant to convert the building into a multi-tenant use.

CESO is a small professional group providing civil engineering and surveying services to businesses and municipalities in the Dayton region.

The applicant anticipates the building will have two restaurant tenants, totaling 8,427 square on each end and 3,591 square feet of retail space. A 1,284 square foot outdoor patio and a drive thru window are also being proposed. The zoning code requires 120 parking spaces for the renovated space.

The specific retailers and restaurants moving into the space have not been identified. The motion was passed by the Beavercreek planning commission and now moves to the Beavercreek city council.

Logan’s Roadhouse closed last September when employees were told high rent and the renegotiation of the building’s lease was a factor in the decision to close the restaurant. In 2016, Logan’s Roadhouse Inc. filed for reorganization bankruptcy and said it would close 18 “underperforming” locations in the 256-unit chain as it restructures its debt.

City officials said both applicants must go through the permit process now before construction begins.
