A Springfield manufacturer will add roughly a dozen new jobs and move about $7 million in sales to Ohio after selling one of its division in South Carolina.

McGregor Metalworking Companies has finalized the sale of SC Metal Products Division in Aiken, S.C., said Jamie McGregor, vice president of sales. The South Carolina division was sold to Batesville Tool and Die Inc., based in Indiana.

“It was a strategic decision that really was the result of our desire to focus our efforts back on Springfield, exclusively and to boost our work here,” he said.

McGregor will also build in an addition to its Morgal facility on South Yellow Springs Street. The company is investing more than $2 million in its facilities this year, including about $500,000 in new equipment as a result of the sale, he said.
