City officials will celebrate the opening of the new store at 8 a.m. Thursday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Here’s five things you can expect to see at the new Kroger store:
1. READY-TO-EAT FOODS AND A BAR
Unique features to this store include a wine and beer tasting bar; a Bistro with fresh chicken, sandwiches, traditional pizza, BBQ, bowls and wraps and Pan Asian/Sushi; an apparel department, expanded Meat/Seafood, Produce, Deli/Bakery departments; and a Murray’s Cheese Shop.
2. GET COFFEE WHILE YOU SHOP
The new Fairborn store will also have a full-service Starbucks location within the store. Gebhart said another 2,774-square-feet Starbucks location will also open near the Kroger store on E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, and will have a drive-thru for customers.

3. GET YOUR ERRANDS DONE IN ONE STOP
The Kroger store will have an expanded Pharmacy department with a drive-thru and The Little Clinic, which is staffed by board-certified nurse practitioners and offers medical care for all ages. The store will also have a bank, and offers ClickList services — Kroger’s online shopping program.
4. GRAND OPENING DEALS
The grand opening will be packed with special events and deals. The Fairborn High School Marching Band will have a special performance and announce the ribbon cutting during an 8:00 a.m. Kroger will also present checks to the USO of Central and Southern Ohio for $63,566; The Foodbank of Dayton for $30,000; and United Rehabilitation Services for $15,000.
The first 300 customers receiving a $10 Kroger gift card.
5. SECOND DAYTON AREA KROGER TO OPEN THIS SUMMER
Kroger also opened a new 115,000-square-foot store at the Cornerstone of Centerville development in early June next to Cabela’s and Costco. The location employs 300 people, and also has a Starbucks, bar, bistro and ClickList services. Customers can stop off for a glass of wine or a beer while stopping at the bank, doing their shopping or picking up a prescription at the pharmacy.
