Premier Health Plan has new president

Renee George has been named president of Premier Health Plan, the commercial health insurance arm of Dayton-based Premier Health hospital network.

In her new role, George, who joined Premier Health in 2008 and was most recently vice president of operations for Premier Health Plan, will be responsible for growing and expanding the health plan. She assumed her new responsibilities Wednesday, replacing Josh Martin.

Prior to joining Premier Health, George’s experience included eight years in leadership at Mercy Health Partners in Cincinnati. She has bachelor’s degree in health administration from the University of Kentucky, and an MBA from Georgia State University.

“The depth of Renee’s knowledge makes her an excellent choice for the position of president,” said Tom Duncan, Premier Health senior vice president and chief financial officer. “She is highly skilled and prepared to lead the health plan in service to our communities.”
