1. JC Penney postponing store closures

JC Penney is postponing the liquidation sales and closures of 138 stores across the U.S.

The retailer announced earlier this year that it would close 138 stores, including four in Ohio, but now they are pushing back the closure dates. CNBC reported that the store closure list has prompted customers to come in and shop. READ MORE

2. Discount women’s clothing store opens in Centerville

A new discount women’s clothing store is opening in Centerville this week.

Style Encore, located at 101 E. Alex Bell Road, will open on Thursday at 10 a.m. Local community, government and business leaders will celebrate with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. before the official opening. READ MORE

3. IKEA sets opening date for new Ohio location

Swedish furniture retailer IKEA will open its second Ohio location in early June, the company announced today.

The retailer will open at 9 a.m. on June 7, and customers can start lining up outside of the store approximately 48 hours in advance of the opening. IKEA officials said they will announce grand opening deals and promotions closer to June. READ MORE

4. Meijer adds home delivery services in Dayton, Cincinnati

Customers no longer have to leave their house to stock up on groceries in the Dayton area.

Meijer is bringing its home delivery services to Cincinnati and Dayton later this month, and it will result in the creation of 1,000 jobs in the state. Based in Grand Rapids, Mich., the grocery retailer will launch the new service in Cincinnati and Dayton on April 27. It will then be offered in Columbus, Dublin and Fairborn starting May 4. READ MORE
