Yet another new craft beer coming to Ohio

The Dayton area is getting another new line of craft beers: Oregon-based Deschutes Brewery beers will become available starting Jan. 24, 2014 across Ohio and in some areas of Kentucky, according to a spokeswoman for Deschutes. The beer will be distributed by Dayton-based Heidelberg Distributing Company.

For two weeks following the Jan. 24 roll-out, Deschutes Brewery representatives will travel around Ohio and in the Louisville area of Kentucky for special tastings and other events, according to a brewery news release.

Initially, Deschutes will be offering its flagship Black Butte Porter, Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Inversion IPA, and its spring seasonal, Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale. The beers will be available in six-packs and draft.

Earlier this year, Deschutes Brewery — which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year — completed an expansion at its main facility in Bend, Oregon. The brewery soon will have the capacity to brew more than 460,000 barrels annually.

On Monday, the Dayton Daily News wrote about New Belgium Brewing's beers upcoming introduction in the Dayton area. Colorado-based New Belgium, whose beers include its flagship Fat Tire Amber Ale, will be distributed in the Dayton area by Dayton-based Bonbright Distributors.
