The Dayton Flyers can clinch the outright Atlantic 10 championship on Senior Night by beating Virginia Commonwealth at 8 p.m. Wednesday at UD Arena, and they will at least share the title if they win one of their last two games.

That’s the situation heading into the final week of the regular season after Dayton beat Davidson 89-82 in overtime on the road Friday and VCU lost 69-59 Saturday at Rhode Island.

With two games to play, the Flyers (23-5, 14-2) sit alone in first place. Dayton closes the regular season at 8 p.m. March 4 at George Washington.

VCU (23-6, 13-3) falls into second place as its nine-game winning streak ended. After playing Dayton, it finishes the regular season at 2 p.m. March 4 against George Mason at home.

Rhode Island (19-9, 11-5) shares second place with Richmond (17-11, 11-5).

Dayton has not won the outright championship since the conference did away with divisions. It shared the title last season with VCU and St. Bonaventure.
