The Dayton Flyers still haven't played a game at full strength this season, and they never will if you consider the loss of Steve McElvene, whose death in May robbed the team of its most dominant shot-blocking force.

Dayton beat Saint Louis 67-46 on Sunday at UD Arena with senior guard Kyle Davis on the bench. He missed his second straight game with a sprained ankle and bruised foot. Coach Archie Miller sounded confident Davis would play in the next game Friday at Virginia Commonwealth.

"He's coming along slowly but surely," Miller said. "Hopefully, tomorrow we'll get him on the court and have him move around a little bit more and see what he can handle. He's better than what he was on Wednesday. I'm hoping with a longer week he can ease into it, and hopefully we can have him available because it would be nice to have our full group at some point."

Dayton has lost 28 starts to injuries: Josh Cunningham (17); Kendall Pollard (6); Charles Cooke (3); Davis (2).
