A criminal investigation is underway regarding a video posted this morning that shows a man urinating in a Kellogg's factory.

Kellogg Company spokesperson Kris Charles has confirmed that an investigation revealed that the video, first posted on Entertainment and news media website WorldStarHipHop, was recorded at their Memphis, Tenn. facility in 2014.

"Kellogg takes this situation very seriously and we were shocked and deeply disappointed by this video that we just learned of today," he stated in an email to this news outlet. "We immediately alerted law enforcement authorities and regulators. A criminal investigation is underway as well as a thorough internal investigation."

He confirmed that projects that could have been potentially affected were Rice Krispies Treats, Rice Krispies Treats cereal and puffed rice cake products, "all of which would be past expiration date."

The video shows a man urinating in a conveyor belt in the Kellogg's cereal factory. The conveyor belt is in operation, and cereal can be observed being deposited on the belt just as a powerful stream lands on the same belt.

The video, which contains graphic footage that may not be suitable for all audiences, can be viewed here at the viewer's discretion.

As the popularity of breakfast cereal continues to fade —reports released in February stated that nearly 40 percent of Millennials don't eat cereal — this video certainly may not help the food item's image, whether or not the video turns out to be false.

This story is currently developing. Kellogg's Company — which houses popular cereal brands including Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops, Raisin Bran and more — issued a response earlier this afternoon to several outraged commenters on their Facebook page.

" We are shocked & outraged by this video. We've alerted law enforcement & are investigating," reads a comment from the Kellogg's brand page.

We will update the story when more information is available.
