The Austin Boulevard interchange at I-75 is taking on a new look as a landscaping project that may top $500,000 is in the works.

The landscaping at all four entrance/exit ramps is being funded by the Austin Center Joint Economic Development District, a tax-sharing body created by Miami Twp., Miamisburg and Springboro.

The work that started this spring and projected to be completed in August is designed to enhance the aesthetics of the interchange, home to Austin Landing and an interstate gateway for all three communities.

The Austin Center JEDD board last year hired The Kleingers Group, which had proposals costing in the $1.5 million range. The board, however, voted to cap spending at $600,000.
