A Dayton company can move forward with plans to build a three-story headquarters at Austin Landing.

Township trustees voted Tuesday night in favor of a proposal to construct a 38,822-square-foot building, where Dayton-based Midmark Corp. plans to relocate.

The building on 0.4 acres also would include other office space, restaurant and retail at the corner of Penny Lane and Rigby Road, next to — and connecting with — the five-story Progress Park Tower, according to plans filed with the township.

Austin Landing developer VisCap Development has not announced tenants for the site. Midmark, however, has said it plans to move to the Miami Twp. location. Construction is projected to be complete in October 2018.

The provider of medical, dental and veterinary health care equipment announced it has finalized lease negotiations for about 12,000 square feet on the third floor. The company will move approximately 20 to 25 positions from its Dayton location.

Approval of the site’s final development plan by trustees comes a week after it was unanimously recommended by the township’s planning commission.
