Region could get hit with accumulating snow late this weekend

Here is our Storm Center 7 snowfall forecast for Sunday into Sunday night, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.

Look for light snow to develop across the northern half of the Miami Valley late Saturday night and spread south early Sunday. The snow will linger into the afternoon and then taper.

More precipitation is expected to arrive Sunday night but by that point, temperatures will likely have climbed above freezing allowing for mainly rain to fall Sunday night into Monday morning.

The questions will be the exact track the storm decides to take and how quickly the changeover to rain will occur.

Looking at the latest forecast models, this is our best forecast. Keep in mind, there may be some adjustments as new model data comes in Friday night into Saturday.

It is possible the system could track even farther north. If this happens, then less snowfall and more rainfall can be expected.

For those of you hoping for snow, there is another chance for accumulating snow the middle of next week. Stay tuned!
