Those hired will be trained at the Washington Twp. store, which will not be overhauled until a few months after the Cornerstone restaurant opens, Davis said.
The Washington Twp. store at 1482 Miamisburg-Centerville Road has the smallest kitchen of any of the Chick-fil-As in Dayton or Cincinnati, yet is the busiest restaurant, ranking in the top 25 among the chain’s 1,600 restaurants in catering sales, Davis said.
The remodeling project will include installation of a dual production line with more hood space to house additional fryers and grills, allowing separate teams to prepare orders for drive-through customers and dine-in/carryout customers, Davis said. A new walk-in cooler and freezer will be added, along with an overhauled drive-through window and an additional breading table and work area to better accommodate catering orders.
The remodel will take place over a two-month period. The restaurant will remain open during the first four weeks of the project, then shut down for four to five weeks while the work is completed, Davis said.
Employees will work at other Chick-fil-A locations during the final construction , and catering projects will be prepared at the Cornerstone of Centerville store during that period, the franchise owner said.
The precise date of the construction project hasn’t been set, Davis said.
