Cedar Fair, the parent company of both Kings Island and Cedar Point, could be getting into the higher education field.

Cedar Fair is reportedly  in talks to bring a college to downtown Sandusky, which is the home of Cedar Point.

The amusement park company is in talks to collaborate with Bowling Green State University for the project, which could bring a “brick-and-mortar learning center” to Sandusky, reports the Sandusky Register.

The project would require around $15 million to $25 million and project officials have already requested $2 million in public tax dollars.

If a facility is built, it would likely focus on training for the tourism and leisure industry, given that Cedar Fair owns amusement parks, the Sandusky Register reports.

BGSU already has a branch campus, called BGSU Firelands, in Huron, Ohio, which is just 15 minutes outside of Sandusky.

“We believe this innovative partnership will benefit the university, Cedar Fair and the community through developing an educational program that will provide graduates with opportunities in the resort and attraction management industry. A key component of the program will be a required co-op at Cedar Fair parks across the country, BGSU interim president Rodney Rogers told the Register.
