A Dayton man told police that, after an argument, his girlfriend posted his personal information on Facebook, , including some private identification numbers that can be used for identity theft and other fraud.

On Wednesday, a 28-year-old man who lives in northwest Dayton called police after coming across a troubling post on his Facebook page’s news feed.

The man said his girlfriend, following a long-running argument, publicly published his name, address, birthday, driver’s license number and Social Security Number, a police report states.

The man told officers he had gotten into an argument with the girlfriend about a paternity test he wanted completed to determine if two children were his.

The man contacted Facebook to remove the post, and police advised him to monitor his credit reports and financial accounts to make sure his identity was not compromised and had not fallen into the wrong hands.

Police planned to contact the girlfriend.
