RELATED: Miamisburg postal worker questioned in criminal investigation resigns
Last fall, this news organization reported that a Miamisburg postal worker was questioned in a criminal investigation and resigned. That worker was not named, but Balfour said Davis’ employment did end in September 2016.
Davis’ case is at least the eighth federal prosecution involving local United States Postal Service employees in the past three years.

Davis stole a $30 Kroger gift card, a $313 American Express gift card, a $300 Visa gift card and a $10 Kroger gift card, according to the indictment. The case docket originally listed one count of delay or destruction of mail or newspapers.
No court dates for Davis have been set. Davis’ lawyer, Julius Carter, said he had no comments on pending cases.

In the other seven local federal cases involving postal workers, most have received probation. Most of the cases have been for stealing gift cards. The exception is Leanna Heskett, who was sentenced in February to five months in prison.
U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Rose also ordered Heskett to undergo mental health counseling and two years of supervised release, including seven months of home confinement.
Surveillance video obtained by this news organization shows Heskett repeatedly putting packages down her sweatpants.

The only other local postal worker case that hasn’t concluded is that of former West Carrollton post office worker Laticha Schroyer, who was allegedly seen vacationing and riding amusement park rides after claiming she was too injured to sit, stand or walk for more than five or 10 minutes at a time.
Court documents allege she was seen in airport and amusement park surveillance traveling and riding a ride at Orlando’s Sea World water park.
Schroyer’s trial is scheduled for Aug. 14.
