Dayton traffic stop yields heroin, 2 arrests

A man and woman are being held after Dayton police found drugs during a Sunday afternoon traffic stop.

Daquann L. Norman, 23, and Kasandra L. Deubner, 21, were arrested on suspicion of felony drug possession, according to the Dayton police report.

Police said Norman was driving a 2002 Infiniti at a high rate of speed and was stopped in the 400 block of Walton Avenue.

Officers assisted Norman in exiting his vehicle because the suspect told them he was recovering after recently being shot in the leg, according to the report.

Police found more than 3 grams of packaged heroin stashed in the brassiere of Deubner, who told officers that Norman told her to hide it, according to the report.

Officers searched their hotel room in Englewood and found various medical supplies and a loaded handgun, but no drugs, according to the report.

The suspects are being held in the Montgomery County Jail and were due for an arraignment Monday afternoon.
