FIRST REPORT

A man brazenly stole the donation jar at the Second Harvest Thrift Store, and the act was caught on a security camera.

Police in Dayton responded Saturday afternoon to the theft report at the store, 4004 Woodcliffe Ave.

The store posted video of the incident on their Facebook page. It shows the robber was lingering around the counter and looking furtively around the store to make sure he wasn’t being watched.

The man hid the donation jar in a garbage can and walked out of the door.

Shortly after the man walked out, two employees realized what happened and started praying, which you can also see in the video.

Second Harvest Thrift Store is a nonprofit effort by Harvest Youth Ministries to support Harvest House, which helps women ages 13 to 24 who find themselves in various difficult situations.

If you recognize the thief in the video, call police at (937) 225-4357.
