2 men indicted in September armed robberies

UPDATE @ 5:22 p.m. (Nov. 30)

Darrell W. Moore II, 22, and Diaquan J. Hoskins, 18, have both been indicted on aggravated robbery charges in connection with a Sept. 17 robbery at the Dollar General on James H. McGee Boulevard in Dayton.

Moore faces an additional charge of failure to comply due to a police chase involved in the case.

Both also were reportedly involved in a robbery at gunpoint at Boost Mobile, 3960 Salem Ave., Sept. 4, and Warsaw Wireless, 3901 Salem Ave., Sept. 10.

They are scheduled for arraignment Dec. 3, and both remain in Montgomery County Jail.

UPDATE @ 3:30 p.m. (Sept. 17)

Dayton police Sgt. Gordon Cairns said the suspects will be charged with aggravated robbery.

Their getaway vehicle was found on Salem Avenue, and one suspect was taken into custody shortly after the chase ended.

A second suspect was tracked through a wooded area and found a short time later in the neighborhood near Greenhill Road, Cairns said, noting that officers recovered a handgun.

FIRST REPORT (Sept. 17)

Dayton police and Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies are asking residents in the area of Greenhill Road to stay in their homes as they search a wooded area for an armed robbery suspect.

According to dispatchers, two armed men robbed the Dollar General store on James H. McGee Boulevard in Dayton at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The two suspects fled in a black Impala and there are reports they hit several cars in their getaway.

The car was spotted by a deputy a short time after the robbery. The men abandoned the car after getting a flat tire.

One suspect was taken into custody. A second suspect ran into the woods and is believed to be armed, according to dispatch reports.

Investigators believe the men may be suspects in another recent robbery.
