13-year-old brought to Dayton Children’s with stab wound, police investigating

Dayton police are investigating after a 13-year-old was brought into Dayton Children’s Hospital with a stabbing wound.

“This case involves the cutting of a juvenile victim that occurred in the late evening of July 14 in the park adjacent to Kemp Elementary School,” according to a statement from Dayton police. “This incident is being investigated as a criminal act and has been assigned to Violent Offenders Unit detectives for follow up. The juvenile’s injury is not life threatening.”

The incident was reported after the teen arrived the hospital in a private vehicle around 11:15 p.m.
