Searce says he was leading a bible study at the church Wednesday night when he heard glass breaking in the gymnasium.
According to Searce, when he went to investigate, he found that the intruders that broke in where in fact just children trying to play basketball.
Searce said that when the children saw him they ran out of the gym before he could say anything. This incident has prompted Searce to open the gym up to the public.
Open gyms will now be held at the Gateway Gymnasium from 10 a.m.-- 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
