Dayton prison chaplain guilty in sexual assault of inmate

A former chaplain at Dayton Correctional Institution was found guilty of sexual battery and will be sentenced next month.

Kenneth B. Bozeman, 53, of Dayton, was found guilty as charged of nine counts.

In August 2015, a female victim and inmate at Dayton Correctional Institution on Germantown Street reported to prison staff that Bozeman, a chaplain at the prison, had engaged in sexual conduct with her.

Bozeman was indicted in April 2016 on nine counts sexual battery.

Today, the defendant was found guilty as charged to all nine counts.

"Inmates in state custody have the same right to not being sexually assaulted as anyone else. The fact that an employee of the prison committed these offenses is

especially disturbing,” said Prosecutor Mat Heck in a release.
