An event marking the final phase of a demolition paving the way for a Kettering Health Network office building is set for this morning.

KHN, Montgomery County and the City of West Carrollton are involved in a three-way deal that will result in a medical office building at 744 E. Dixie Dr., where the final phase of the demolition of the former Sonny’s Auto Spa is set to start Monday.

The event today is set for 10 a.m. on the 3.84-acre property. B&B Wrecking Services will complete the building demolition, according to the city.

The Montgomery County Land Bank acquired the property in December 2016. About $176,800 in Community Development Block Grant funding and Neighborhood Stabilization funds are being used to demolish the structure, according to the city. Both sources come from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and are filtered through Montgomery County.

Once demolition is complete, Kettering Health Network will acquire the property and eventually develop a new medical office building. KHN has not yet announced specific plans.
