Father, son from Enon killed in Huber Heights crash

UPDATE @ 6:21 p.m.

A father and son from Enon were the victims in the deadly two-vehicle crash at Ohio 4 and Lower Valley Pike on Saturday, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Next of kin have been notified of the deaths of Richard Serow, 77, and his son, Craig Serow, 48, according to the coroner’s office.

UPDATE @ 6:40 p.m.

A silver Honda sedan was crossing Ohio 4 on New Carlisle Pike at 3:20 p.m. when the driver pulled into the path of a maroon Ford truck that was headed north on Ohio 4, according to the Huber Heights Police Division.

The vehicles collided and slid off the right side of Ohio 4, where the Honda flipped onto its side. Two men in the Honda were killed in the crash. The passenger was ejected, and the driver — even though police said was wearing a seat belt — was partially thrown through the moonroof.

The driver of the truck was not seriously hurt. He was taken to a local hospital by family members.

The names of those involved in the crash were not released.

A Huber Heights police accident reconstruction crew is on scene, and the crash remains under investigation.

Police said the silver sedan pulled out onto Ohio 4 and was struck by a maroon pickup truck.

The impact killed two occupants in the silver car.

The intersection at Ohio 4 and Lower Valley Pike remains shut down as police investigate the crash.
