The brewery’s beers will be unveiled this Friday, Sept. 1 — four days prior to the downtown Dayton restaurant’s scheduled opening on Tuesday, Sept. 5 — at nine southwest Ohio restaurants and taverns, according to Lock 27 founder and owner Steve Barnhart.

The Lock 27 beers will be available at Archer’s Tavern (both the Centerville and Kettering locations); Stone House Tavern in Waynesville; King’s Table in Washington Twp.; Middletown Fine Wine & Spirits; Flyboys Deli in Oakwood; Dorothy Lane Market’s Washington Square store; Corner Kitchen in Dayton’s Oregon District; and Old Scratch Pizza in Dayton.

The first beers Lock 27 will release in kegs will be its Mouth Breather IPA and Lock Tender Ale, to be followed shortly by Charlosta Brown Ale, Spillway Pale Ale, and Oat Rodeo Stout, Barnhart said.
Lock 27 to build 2nd brewery, pub in downtown Dayton
The highly anticipated debut of the brewery and restaurant’s second — and much larger — location on East Monument Avenue adjacent to Fifth Third Field is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5. The pub will host some “soft-open” activities this week, Barnhart said.

The brewery and restaurant occupies about 12,000 square feet of the Delco Building’s basement and first floor. It will open with about 50 employees, Barnhart has said. The original Lock 27 location on Ohio 48 in south Centerville remains open.
Centerville brewery doubles its capacity to meet demand
Barnhart is a native of Chicago who moved to the Dayton area in 1984. He spent 15 years working in corporate development at NCR. An avid home-brewer since 1997, Barnhart opened Lock 27 in Centerville in June 2013.
