Summer break ends Wednesday for one Dayton school, the first to head back to classes for the 2017-18 school year.

FULL LIST: When does school start for area districts?

STEAM Academy of Dayton, a charter school that serves grades one through eight, will begin its year. The school on Odlin Avenue combines a traditional STEM curriculum of science, technology, engineering and mathematics with a focus on the arts.

No other area district returns this week, but two go back next week and the majority return between Aug. 14 and Aug. 17.
