Earley, who retired from Hillsboro City Schools in January, will replace current superintendent Bill Kirby when Kirby retires in June.

Today, Earley signed a three-year contract with the district and is scheduled to begin serving as superintendent on Aug. 1.

The district had 21 applicants for the position.

Board members are likely to discuss hiring Earley during when they meet tonight. An executive session meeting will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the public meeting at 6:30 p.m. at 59 Peffley St.
