Springboro picks replacement for retiring city manager

City Manager Christine Thompson is retiring after 28 years with Springboro city government.

Thompson will be replaced Oct. 2 by Assistant City Manager Chris Pozzuto.

Thompson served as city manager for the past 17 years. She previously served as assistant city manager and community development director.

Pozzuto was assistant city manager since April 2003.

On Thursday, the city council added an agenda item to approve Pozzuto’s two-year contract.

He will be paid $121,000 during the first year. He earned $103, 566 as assistant city manager.

The second year’s salary will reflect pay hikes to city staff.

Mayor John Agenbroad credited Thompson with leading the city through a period of residential and commercial growth.

“We are very excited that we have someone like Mr. Pozzuto who can step right in,” Agenbroad said in a press release.
