West Carrollton is seeking federal funds to help demolish a former car wash on East Dixie Drive.

The city plans to apply for a Community Development Block Grant to clear the former West Carrollton Car Wash site at 518 E. Dixie, records show. The city bought the 0.324-acre site in 2013, according to the Montgomery County Auditor’s Office website.

The former car wash would be the third site on East Dixie this year the city wants to tear down. In February the city, Kettering Health Network and Montgomery County announced a three-way deal to demolish a former car wash at 744 E. Dixie so KHN can put a medical office building there.
