F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets will practice night flying exercises around Ohio today through Thursday, according to the Ohio Air National Guard.

The exact location could vary depending on weather conditions and where the jets are sent to practice, according to Staff Sgt. Shane Hughes, a 180th Fighter Wing spokesman at Toledo Air National Guard Base. Flight planners make the decision on the day of the training, he said.

Take-offs and landings were set around 10 p.m. each day.

The wing has sent planes to the Springfield region in recent weeks, and in the past has flown at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The unit also practices in the Buckeye and Brush Creek military operating areas over rural southern Ohio.

The fighter wing is an aerial defense squadron for regional airspace.
