Community Focus Forward meeting Sept. 26

On Sept. 26 from 6:30-8 p.m. Riverside citizens are invited to share concerns or ask questions during a Community Focus Forward meeting at the Shellabarger Park, 5875 Bayside Dr. These meetings will be held at relaxed and informal settings around the community. Riverside City Council members and staff members will be available to discuss issues, answer questions and provide city updates.

Completing a Focus Forward Question Card prior to or at the beginning of each meeting will help maintain equal opportunity for participation and help to effectively use meeting time. Find the Focus Forward Question Card in the newsletter, at each meeting, the Riverside Website, www.riverside.oh.us/, or the Administrative Office, 5200 Springfield St.

DAYTON

Dayton World Soccer Games Sept. 16

On Sept. 16 come out for the sixth annual Dayton World Soccer Games which will bring more than 20 youth and adult teams to the Action Sports Center, 1103 Gateway Dr. This day-long tournament celebrates Dayton’s diversity with a parade of nations starting at 8:30 a.m. Youth matches begin at 9:30 a.m., and the adult championship game starts at approximately 4 p.m. (championship game time subject to change). Spectators are welcome; admission and parking are free. Bring sports seating for your own use.

TROTWOOD

Parade kicks off Family Reunion Weekend

On Sept. 30 beginning at 9 a.m. there will be parade to kick off Trotwood’s Family Reunion weekend. The parade will take place along Union Blvd., from Trotwood-Madison High School to Strader Drive and will include Mayor Mary McDonald as the grand marshal, Trotwood Fire and Rescue vehicles, Trotwood Police Department vehicles, Public Works equipment and vehicles, local celebrities and elected officials, decorated vehicles and bicycles, classic cars, motorcycles, music and horses.

Amateur BBQ Contest Sept. 30

On Sept. 30 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., the 7th Annual Trotwood-Wolfcreek Smoke, Sizzle and Sounds Amateur BBQ Contest will take place at Madison Park, 301 S. Broadway St. There will be cash prizes for winners from each category of chicken and pork ribs. First place winners will go home with $500, second place $250 and third place $175.
