David L. Spencer, of Huber Heights, was killed when his 2008 Toyota Corolla traveled off the left side of Fishburg and struck a tree head-on, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The patrol confirmed that the vehicle caught fire as a result of the impact. Spencer was the driver and only occupant. No other vehicles are believed to be involved, according to the patrol.
Preliminary findings for cause-of-death have not been released.

Troopers said a driver was killed when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree line early Tuesday morning.
The vehicle caught fire following the crash, but troopers said they believe the driver died from the impact of the crash, not from the blaze.

According to witnesses, the driver was going westbound, turned around and lost control as the vehicle was going eastbound.
The driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash happened in Greene County near Huber Heights.
Fishburg Road remains closed in the area.
FIRST REPORT
The coroner has been requested to the scene of a single vehicle crash and car fire on Fishburg Road at Bath Road in Greene County.
The incident was dispatched around 6:30 a.m. Initial reports indicated the vehicle was on fire after the crash with one person trapped.

Fishburg Road at Bath Road is closed. The scene is near the border of Huber Heights and Greene County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling.
