Chief: Damages estimate at $30K after house fire in Dayton

UPDATE @ 4:50 a.m: Damages are estimated at around $30,000 after a fire broke out this morning at a house on Lilac Avenue, according to District Chief Peter Whitby with the Dayton Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to the home in the 800 block after a next door neighbor reported it to dispatchers, according to a 9-1-1 call.

Firefighters were met with visible flames coming from the roof of the house, which they were able to extinguish.

The 9-1-1 caller indicated that someone did live at the house, but officials did not find anyone to be home after their primary search.

Investigators were called to determine the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported in the blaze.

Crews are responding to a fire this morning reported on Lilac Avenue in Dayton.

Initial reports indicate flames were showing around 3:30 a.m. from the roof of the structure in the 800 block of Lilac Avenue.
