The SUV was traveling south on Germantown Pike when the driver lost control, went off the side of the road, rolled and landed upside down into a house on top of a gas meter, Jefferson Township Fire Battalion Chief Gregory Wilcox said.
No one was home at the time of the crash.
The two occupants in the SUV were trapped for an extended period of time before fire crews were able to extricate them.

“In addition to them being pinned and trapped inside, the vehicle landed on a gas meter so we had gas leaking in the area and difficulty locating the shut off,” Wilcox said. “The patients were on the way to the hospital before the gas was shut off, so crews did an excellent job of avoiding that hazard and danger while extricating the patients.”
Two CareFlight helicopters responded to take the patients separately, but only one person was transported by CareFlight and the other by ambulance to Miami Valley Hospital.
Wilcox said both patients conditions were “extremely critical.”
The crash was turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for accident reconstruction and the Montgomery County Engineer will respond to assess the structure of the house.
