2 males wounded in drive-by shooting, Dayton police say

UPDATE @ 7:59 p.m.: Two males were wounded in the shooting on Queens Avenue and Dayton police supervisors tell us they are continuing to look for a car involved in what they are describing as a drive-by.

One of the victims has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital, suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

The second victim was hit in the back by shrapnel. He declined to be taken to a hospital.

Police tell us they are looking for a dark gray Pontiac Grand Prix. The police supervisors said investigators are not releasing any more information tonight.

UPDATE @ 7:15 p.m.:

Witnesses tell us the male wounded on Queens Avenue was a passenger in a car hit in a drive-by shooting.

Witnesses also tell us the male was hit in one of his legs as he got out of the car in an attempt to elude the gunfire. The car he was in is in a driveway in the 4400 block of Queens.

Dayton police are looking for a dark gray Pontiac Grand Prix as part of their investigation. Officers have not offered any comment as of yet.

INITIAL REPORT

Dayton police are looking for a car believed to have been part of a shooting reported the 4400 block of Queens Avenue.

The dispatch was issued just after 6:30 p.m. Police have taken their investigation to Miami Valley Hospital.
