Early morning fire destroys Dayton home

A house in the 4600 block of Sylvan Drive in Dayton was heavily damaged by fire early Tuesday morning.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, flames were shooting out of the structure. But crews quickly got the fire under control, said Cheryl Clark of the Dayton Fire Department.

No one was in the home when firefighters arrived, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, she said.

No one was injured.
