Cause of Dayton house fire under investigation

No injuries are reported at the scene of a house fire in Dayton Saturday morning, according to firefighters at the scene.

Fire crews told our crew at the scene they are attempting to determine a cause for the fire.

One man was home at the time and made it out of the house before fire crews arrived.

An unknown, but reportedly high number of animals were in the house while crews battled the flames.

Firefighters said they believe most of the animals made it out of the house and are working to confirm this.

It is unknown what caused the fire or the amount of damage the house suffered.

INITIAL REPORT (Dec. 10)

Firefighters are arriving on the scene of a reported house fire in Dayton Saturday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the 50 block of Vine Street on a report of a structure fire around 3:35 a.m.

Initial reports indicate flames are billowing from the front windows of the one-story home.
