There is an Air Quality Advisory in effect until midnight tonight for Butler, Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties, issued by the Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency.

The agency said it expects to see ozone levels that will be unhealthy for sensitive groups like children, the elderly and people with respiratory diseases.

It asked residents to take a few actions to help reduce ozone formation, including:

  • Taking the bus, carpooling, biking or walking instead of driving
  • Refueling your vehicle after 8 p.m., avoiding topping off the tank and tightening the gas cap
  • Avoiding idling your vehicle
  • Avoiding using gas-powered law equipment
