FIRST REPORT (Jan. 12)
The city of Huber Heights expects to finalize a naming rights deal for the new music center this week.
City Council on Monday night sent legislation to a second reading on a proposed $4 million lifetime naming rights deal, in order to have the contract language reviewed.
A special meeting is expected this week to vote on the contract. The proposed deal with an undisclosed foundation would be over 20 years, with a minimum of $200,000 a year.
A $2 million lifetime deal — $200,000 a year for 10 years — with the same foundation had been originally discussed.
The $19.3 million music center, which has been completed, opens this spring.
