Michigan man tased in West Milton pursuit facing multiple forgery charges

A Michigan man is in the Miami County Jail after officers caught him attempting to use forged credit cards at a West Milton store Tuesday afternoon.

Deangelo Edmonds, of Detroit, was arrested after he led an officer on a short foot chase outside of the Dollar General in the 900 block of South Miami Street, according to a release from West Milton police chief Harry Buss.

Buss said police were initially dispatched to the IGA in the 1100 block of the same street around 11:35 a.m. on a report of a suspicious man involved in fraudulent credit card activity.

Later, police caught the man unsuccessfully attempting to purchase cell phones with credit cards at the Dollar General.

Edmonds led police on a short foot chase in which he was tased before being caught and taken to jail, according to Buss.

Buss said Edmonds is in in the Miami County Jail on four, fifth-degree felonies for forgery and criminal tools, three, first-degree misdemeanors for misuse of credit cards and obstructing official business, and a second-degree misdemeanor for resisting arrest.
