Jeff Schmitt issues statement after 3 workers injured in fire at Miamisburg store

UPDATE @ 7:10 p.m.:

Jeff Schmitt of Jeff Schmitt Auto Group issued a statement tonight after three service station employees were taken to a local hospital following a fire in a service bay at Jeff Schmitt Chevrolet South in Miamisburg.

Following is Schmitt’s statement in full:

"Unfortunately today we experienced a fire in one of our service bays at our Chevrolet store in Miamisburg. Three of our employees were injured and transported to the hospital for treatment. Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected employees and their loved ones. Across our auto group nothing is more important to us than our work family and their safety. We are working with the fire marshal and are investigating this incident fully."

Miamisburg police confirm three people were taken to an area hospital after a reported fire in the service area of the Jeff Schmitt Chevrolet South location.

The conditions of those injured were not immediately known.

FIRST REPORT

At least three people have been injured after a fire broke out in a service bay at Jeff Schmitt Chevrolet South in Miamisburg, according to reports.

Firefighters were dispatched to reports of a structure fire in the service area of the dealership at 125 South Gebhart Church Road around 2:05 p.m. Friday

Multiple medics have been dispatched and at least three people were injured, emergency scanner traffic indicates.
